John O'Neill (footballer, born 1974)

John O'Neill (born 21 August 1974) is a Northern Irish former professional footballer. He primarily played as a defender.

O'Neill began his professional career with Cliftonville in Northern Ireland. He moved to England to join Wigan Athletic in 1996, where he played for several seasons. He later played for Mansfield Town, and York City.

After his time in the English leagues, O'Neill returned to Northern Ireland and played for several clubs, including Crusaders.

O'Neill also represented Northern Ireland at international level, earning caps for his country. He was known for his solid defensive performances.
