Millennium Bridge (Dublin)

The Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian bridge spanning the River Liffey in Dublin, Ireland. It connects Eustace Street in Temple Bar, on the south bank, to the Italian Quarter and Bachelor's Walk, on the north bank.

The bridge was designed by Sean Harrington Architects, Ove Arup & Partners, and Michael Barry, and officially opened in December 1999 as part of Dublin's millennium celebrations. Constructed of pre-fabricated concrete sections, it was assembled off-site and then lifted into place.

The Millennium Bridge is notable for its sleek, modern design and its use of white concrete. Its simple, arching form provides a clear and unobstructed view along the river. The bridge has become a popular landmark and a heavily used pedestrian route, particularly during the day and evening. It has contributed significantly to improving pedestrian access between the north and south sides of Dublin city centre. It is illuminated at night, adding to its visual appeal.
