Savage (Tank album)
Savage is the seventh studio album by the British heavy metal band Tank, released in 2012. It marks a significant point in the band's history due to the departure of vocalist Doogie White and the introduction of ZP Theart (formerly of DragonForce) as the new lead singer.
The album features a lineup consisting of Mick Tucker and Cliff Evans on guitars, Chris Dale on bass, and Mark Cross on drums, in addition to Theart on vocals. Savage was produced by Ben Minal.
The album is known for its heavier sound and aggressive approach compared to some of Tank's previous works. The songs generally explore themes related to conflict, aggression, and societal issues, mirroring the album title. Reception of Savage was generally positive, with reviewers often commenting on Theart's vocal performance and the overall energy of the album. While opinions varied on whether it reached the heights of Tank's earlier classics, it was largely considered a strong addition to the band's discography and a demonstration of their continued relevance in the heavy metal scene.
