Pylon (album)
Pylon is the second and final studio album by the American rock band Pylon. It was released in 1981 on DB Records. The album continued the band's distinctive post-punk sound, characterized by angular guitar riffs, Vanessa Briscoe Hay's distinctive vocals, and driving rhythms.
The album features a number of notable tracks, including "Crazy," "Danger," and "Italian Movie Theme." While not a commercial success upon its initial release, Pylon has since garnered critical acclaim and is considered a seminal work of the Athens, Georgia music scene of the early 1980s. Its influence can be heard in the work of numerous subsequent indie rock and post-punk bands. The album's artwork, like their debut, was designed by Michael Lachowski.
Pylon disbanded in 1983, shortly after touring to promote the album, though they have reunited for occasional performances since then. Pylon remains a testament to their unique and influential sound.
