Barak Kol (physicist)

Barak Kol is an Israeli physicist known for his work in theoretical physics, particularly in the areas of black holes, string theory, and gravity. He is a professor at the Racah Institute of Physics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research interests include the study of classical and quantum properties of black holes, the relation between gravity and gauge theories, and the development of new tools for understanding strongly coupled systems. Kol has made significant contributions to the understanding of the black hole singularity, proposing ideas related to fuzzballs and the structure of black hole horizons. He has also worked on topics related to the AdS/CFT correspondence and its applications to condensed matter physics.
