Banabuiú

Banabuiú is a municipality located in the state of Ceará, Brazil. It is situated in the Sertão Central region of the state.

Geography: Banabuiú is characterized by a semi-arid climate and landscape typical of the Sertão. The terrain is generally flat, with sparse vegetation adapted to the dry conditions. The Jaguaribe River passes through the municipality.

History: The area of present-day Banabuiú was originally inhabited by indigenous peoples. European colonization led to the development of cattle ranching and agriculture. The municipality was officially established on November 13, 1951, separating from the municipality of Quixadá.
