Polytechnic (band)
Polytechnic was a British indie rock band, formed in London in 2004. The band consisted of vocalist and guitarist Gareth Bullock, guitarist Robin Edwards, bassist Steffan Halperin, and drummer Ross Harrison. They were known for their energetic live performances and distinctive sound, blending elements of post-punk revival and indie pop.
Polytechnic released several singles and EPs before signing to independent record label Transgressive Records. Their debut album, "Wires Dream of Machines," was released in 2007 to generally positive reviews. The album showcased their catchy melodies and angular guitar riffs.
The band toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe, supporting acts such as The Futureheads and Art Brut. They gained a loyal following with their high-energy shows.
In 2008, Polytechnic released their second and final album, "Down Here With the City Boys." The album explored a slightly darker and more introspective sound. Following the release, the band embarked on another tour but subsequently disbanded in 2009. Members went on to pursue other musical projects.
