For King & Country is a Christian contemporary music duo composed of Australian brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone. Formed in 2007, the band originally went by the name "Austoville" before settling on "For King & Country."

The Smallbone brothers were born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and are siblings of contemporary Christian music artist Rebecca St. James. They relocated to the United States in 1991 when their father pursued a career opportunity. Prior to forming For King & Country, Joel and Luke worked as backing vocalists and stage crew for their sister, Rebecca St. James. In 2007, after Luke experienced health challenges, they decided to pursue their own musical career.
