Eva Högl

Eva Högl (born January 25, 1969, in Brunswick, Germany) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). She has served as the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces (Wehrbeauftragte) since May 2020.

Högl studied law at the University of Hanover and the University of Lausanne. After completing her studies, she worked as a lawyer.

She was a member of the German Bundestag from 2009 to 2020, representing the constituency of Berlin-Mitte. During her time in parliament, she served on various committees, including the Committee on Internal Affairs and the Committee on Legal Affairs. She also held the position of deputy chairperson of the SPD parliamentary group.

As Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces, Högl acts as a mediator between the German Bundestag, the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), and the soldiers themselves. Her responsibilities include addressing grievances and concerns within the Bundeswehr and ensuring that the rights of soldiers are protected. She also provides reports to the Bundestag on the state of the Bundeswehr.
