Pedro Nolasco (boxer)
Pedro Nolasco (born January 31, 1962, died December 25, 1995) was a Dominican Republic boxer who competed in the Bantamweight division.
Nolasco is best known for winning a bronze medal for the Dominican Republic at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In the semi-finals, he lost to Mauricio Stecca of Italy.
Prior to his Olympic success, Nolasco also represented his country at the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela, where he won a silver medal.
Nolasco had a short professional boxing career after the Olympics.
He died in 1995 under disputed circumstances. Some reports indicate he died in a shootout with police, while others suggest he was murdered. The precise details surrounding his death remain unclear and controversial.
