Ma Qizhi
Ma Qizhi (Simplified Chinese: 马启智; Traditional Chinese: 馬啟智; Pinyin: Mǎ Qǐzhì; born October 1949) is a retired Chinese politician. He served as Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from 2007 to 2013.
Born in Haiyuan County, Ningxia, Ma is of Hui ethnicity. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in December 1971. He held various positions within the Ningxia regional government, including Vice-Chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Prior to his chairmanship, he also served as the deputy party chief of Ningxia.
Ma Qizhi's tenure as Chairman of Ningxia saw continued economic development and efforts to improve living standards within the region. He focused on issues such as poverty alleviation and infrastructure development. His leadership also emphasized the importance of ethnic unity and promoting the cultural heritage of the Hui people.
After his term as Chairman ended in 2013, he retired from active political service. His successor as Chairman was Liu Hui.
