Cityfone
Cityfone was a Canadian mobile phone service provider, operating as a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO). It was a subsidiary of Rogers Communications. Cityfone primarily targeted budget-conscious consumers with prepaid and postpaid mobile plans.
Cityfone offered voice, text, and data services using the Rogers wireless network. Its service area covered most of Canada where Rogers had network coverage. Cityfone differentiated itself from Rogers' main brand through its pricing and focus on simple, affordable plans.
The company was acquired and integrated into Chatr Mobile, another Rogers-owned MVNO, in 2015. The Cityfone brand no longer exists as a separate entity. Existing Cityfone customers were transitioned to Chatr services.
