Leap Frog (board game)

Leap Frog is a strategy board game, typically for two players, where the objective is to eliminate your opponent's pieces by leaping over them with your own. The game is played on a grid-based board, often consisting of a square or rectangular arrangement of spaces or holes. Pieces representing frogs (or other themed characters) are placed on the board according to a pre-determined starting configuration.

Gameplay involves moving a piece by jumping over an adjacent piece into an empty space on the opposite side of the jumped-over piece. The jumped-over piece is then removed from the board. A player can make multiple jumps in a single turn, provided each jump follows the same rules. Pieces generally cannot move without jumping; they cannot simply move to an adjacent empty space.

The goal is to either eliminate all of your opponent's pieces, or to trap your opponent so that they have no legal moves available. Strategy involves planning jump sequences, anticipating your opponent's moves, and creating defensive formations to protect your own pieces. Variations of Leap Frog may exist, differing in board layout, starting positions, or allowed jump directions. The game is often cited for its simple rules but requiring significant strategic thinking.
