Levensau (river)

The Levensau is a small river in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is approximately 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) long and flows into the Kiel Canal near Kiel-Wik. The Levensau originates from several springs and small streams southwest of Kiel. It is notable primarily for its historical significance and its connection to the older Eider Canal. The river itself is relatively insignificant in terms of size and navigability today, its main importance stemming from its historical role in early canal projects.
