Godha (film)

Godha is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language sports comedy film directed by Basil Joseph and produced by Mukesh R. Mehta and C. V. Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment. The film stars Tovino Thomas, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Renji Panicker in the lead roles.

The film revolves around Aditi Singh (Wamiqa Gabbi), a Punjabi wrestler, and Das (Tovino Thomas), a reluctant wrestler from Kerala, and their intertwining journey in the world of wrestling. Das, initially uninterested in the sport, is forced into wrestling by his father (Renji Panicker), a former wrestler himself. Aditi's arrival and passion for wrestling reignites Das's interest.

Godha explores themes of family expectations, pursuing one's passion, gender equality in sports, and cross-cultural connections. The film received positive reviews for its humor, performances, direction, and its refreshing take on the sports genre within Malayalam cinema. The music was composed by Shaan Rahman.
