John Stocks (priest)
John Stocks (1861-1939) was an Anglican priest and schoolmaster. He served as Headmaster of Repton School from 1900 to 1905, a period marked by academic growth and improvements to the school's facilities. Prior to Repton, Stocks was a fellow and tutor at St John's College, Oxford. After leaving Repton, he became Vicar of Market Weighton in Yorkshire until his retirement. He was known for his scholarship, particularly in classical studies, and for his strong leadership qualities. His contributions to Repton School are still remembered in the institution's history. He published several sermons and theological works during his career.
