58 (band)

58 was an American hard rock band formed in 1998 by Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe. The band's sound was significantly different from Mötley Crüe, incorporating elements of industrial rock and electronica. The name "58" is a reference to the year 1958, the year Sixx was born.

The band's lineup consisted of Nikki Sixx on bass, Dave Darling on guitar, Steve Gibb (son of Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees) on guitar, and Bucket Baker on drums.

58 released one album, Diet for a New America, in 2000. The album's themes explored social commentary and personal struggles, marking a departure from the glam metal sound typically associated with Sixx. The band also released a single and music video for the song "Piece of Candy."

58 was short-lived, disbanding shortly after the release of their album. Nikki Sixx subsequently went on to form the band Sixx:A.M.
