Hiccups (TV series)

Hiccups is a Canadian comedy television series that aired on CTV and The Comedy Network from March 1, 2010, to December 16, 2011. Created by Brent Butt, also known for creating and starring in Corner Gas, the series centers around Millie Dunn (played by Nancy Robertson), a children's book author with a severe case of the hiccups whenever she gets stressed or excited.

The premise revolves around Millie's interactions with her overly enthusiastic and often misguided agent, Stan Dirko (played by Brent Butt). Stan is constantly pitching unusual and often inappropriate ideas to promote Millie's books, leading to comedic situations and challenges for both characters.

Hiccups features a supporting cast that includes Paula Rivera as Joyce, Millie's pragmatic and supportive best friend, and David Ingram as Taylor Rachels, a security guard who has a crush on Millie. The series explores themes of friendship, ambition, and the challenges of navigating a creative career.

While Hiccups shared similar comedic sensibilities with Corner Gas, it aimed for a different type of humor, focusing more on character-driven situations and the dynamics between Millie and Stan. The series ran for two seasons before its cancellation.
