Slum Village (album)

Slum Village is a self-titled studio album by the Detroit-based hip hop group Slum Village, released in 2005. It is sometimes referred to as Slum Village, Self-Titled, or Slum Village (Detroit Deli). The album marks the group's first release after the death of founding member Baatin (born Titus Glover), though he appears posthumously on several tracks. While group members T3 and Elzhi are present, it also features contributions from several guest artists, including Kanye West, Dwele, and John Legend. The production is handled by a variety of producers, including Kanye West, J Dilla (posthumously), and Karriem Riggins. The album received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its Detroit hip-hop sound and guest appearances, while others criticized its inconsistency compared to earlier Slum Village releases. The album spawned singles such as "Selfish" and "P.E.T.R.O.".
