Tommy Dowd (Gaelic footballer)
Tommy Dowd is a former Gaelic footballer who played for Meath. He is widely regarded as one of Meath's greatest ever players. He typically played as a defender.
Dowd enjoyed a distinguished career with Meath, winning two All-Ireland Senior Football Championships in 1987 and 1988. He also won four Leinster Senior Football Championships and two National Football League titles. He was known for his tough tackling, aerial ability, and leadership qualities.
Dowd received an All-Star award for his performances in 1988. He also represented Ireland in the International Rules Series.
