The Skull (band)
The Skull is an American doom metal band formed in 2011 by former members of Trouble. The band primarily consists of vocalist Eric Wagner and drummer Jeff "Oly" Olson, both original members of Trouble. The Skull aims to carry on the legacy of Trouble's classic doom metal sound while exploring new musical directions.
Following Wagner's departure from Trouble, he and Olson founded The Skull as a way to continue performing Trouble's material and create new music in a similar vein. The band's lineup has shifted over time, but Wagner and Olson have remained the core members.
The Skull has released several albums, including "For Those Which Are Asleep" (2014) and "The Endless Road Turns Dark" (2018). Their music is characterized by heavy, down-tuned guitars, Wagner's distinctive vocals, and themes related to darkness, spirituality, and introspection, common elements of the doom metal genre. The band has toured extensively, playing both original material and classic Trouble songs for fans worldwide.
Eric Wagner passed away in August 2021. The future of The Skull following his death is uncertain.
