Mike Esposito (comics)

Mike Esposito (July 13, 1927 – October 24, 2010) was an American comic book artist and inker, best known for his long collaboration with Ross Andru on titles such as Wonder Woman and Metal Men.

Esposito began his career in the late 1940s, working for various publishers including Harvey Comics and Lev Gleason Publications. He gained prominence in the 1950s, often as an inker, refining the penciled work of other artists.

The Andru-Esposito team became one of the most prolific and recognizable duos in the industry. Their partnership lasted for decades, stretching across multiple companies, primarily DC Comics. In addition to Wonder Woman and Metal Men, they also worked on The Flash, Green Lantern, and numerous other superhero titles. Their work was characterized by dynamic action sequences, clean lines, and a polished, professional aesthetic.

Esposito also worked as a solo artist, primarily as an inker, on various projects. He contributed to titles for Marvel Comics, including The Amazing Spider-Man and Captain America.

Beyond his work as an artist, Esposito was also a co-founder of the Academy of Comic Book Arts. He was respected within the comics community for his skill, professionalism, and dedication to the craft.
