Shun Sato (figure skater)
Shun Sato (佐藤 駿, Satō Shun, born February 16, 2004) is a Japanese figure skater. He is the 2020 Skate Canada International champion, the 2023 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, and a two-time medalist on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series. At the junior level, he is the 2019-20 Junior Grand Prix Final champion and the 2020 World Junior silver medalist. Sato represents Japan in international senior competitions.
Career
Sato began learning to skate at a young age and quickly progressed through the ranks. He gained international attention during the 2019-20 season with his Junior Grand Prix Final win, showcasing powerful skating and complex jumps. He followed this with a silver medal at the 2020 World Junior Championships.
Transitioning to the senior level, Sato has faced the challenges common to young skaters adapting to more rigorous competition.
