Harlow (Magna film)

Harlow is a 1965 biographical film about the life of actress Jean Harlow. It was produced by Magna Corporation and starred Carroll Baker as Harlow. This film was one of two biographical films about Harlow released in 1965, the other being Harlow (also known as Harlow: The Private Life of a Star), produced by Paramount Pictures and starring Carol Lynley. The Magna version was filmed in "Electronovision," an early form of large-screen video projection later transferred to film. The film covers Harlow's rise to fame, her tumultuous relationships, and her untimely death at the age of 26. It was directed by Gordon Douglas. While not a critical success, the film is noted for being a key example of Electronovision and a product of Hollywood's fascination with Harlow's life and persona.
