Taklon

Taklon is a synthetic fiber, most commonly a variation of nylon or polyester, used as a substitute for animal hair, particularly sable, in paintbrushes and cosmetic brushes. It is considered a vegan alternative to natural hair brushes and is often marketed for its cruelty-free status.

Taklon fibers are known for their smooth texture, which allows for even application of paints and cosmetics. Unlike natural hair, Taklon is non-porous, meaning it does not absorb product, leading to less waste and easier cleaning. This non-absorbency also contributes to a more hygienic brush, as it is less likely to harbor bacteria.

Taklon brushes generally offer good durability and are resistant to damage from solvents and other materials commonly used in art and cosmetic applications.
