Middleman (band)
Middleman was an American indie rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in the late 1990s. The band's core members consisted of Duncan Black (vocals, guitar), David Singer (guitar), and Ryan Rapsys (drums). Their sound often incorporated elements of post-punk, alternative rock, and power pop, drawing comparisons to bands such as The Pixies and Superchunk.
Middleman gained traction within the Chicago music scene and released several EPs and albums, including "The Object Is A Vegetable," "Non-Stop Sensitivity," and "Blue Collar Suicide Machine." They were known for their energetic live performances and Duncan Black's distinctive vocal style. While they achieved regional success and critical acclaim in independent music circles, Middleman never broke into the mainstream.
The band eventually disbanded in the mid-2000s. After Middleman, its members pursued other musical projects and endeavors. Duncan Black continued to be involved in music, contributing to other bands and solo work.
