Epic (1984 film)

Epic is a 1984 American made-for-television science fiction film directed by Robert Heath and starring Eric Stoltz, Philip Michael Thomas, and Anne Twomey.

The film is a satirical commentary on the entertainment industry and consumer culture, presented within a dystopian future where people are obsessed with holographic entertainment called "epics." The plot follows Doree (Eric Stoltz), a young man who inadvertently becomes a sensation within the epic industry after a spontaneous, unscripted outburst.
