Francis W. Rockwell (politician)

Francis W. Rockwell (1844-1929) was an American lawyer and politician from Massachusetts. He served as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the Massachusetts Senate, and as a U.S. Representative.

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Rockwell attended Williams College, graduating in 1866. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1868, commencing practice in Pittsfield. He served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1878 to 1881, and in the Massachusetts Senate from 1884 to 1886.

In 1906, Rockwell was elected as a Republican to the Sixtieth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John A. Sullivan. He was re-elected to the Sixty-first and Sixty-second Congresses and served from November 6, 1906, to March 3, 1913. He was not a candidate for renomination in 1912.

After his time in Congress, Rockwell resumed the practice of law in Pittsfield. He died there in 1929 and was interred in Pittsfield Cemetery.
