High (The Cure song)

"High" is a song by the English rock band The Cure, released as the first single from their ninth studio album, Wish, in March 1992. It was a commercially successful single, reaching the top ten in several countries, including the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number eight.

The song is characterized by its upbeat tempo, shimmering guitars, and Robert Smith's distinctive vocals. Lyrically, "High" is generally interpreted as a song about being in love and experiencing a feeling of euphoria and optimism. It contrasts with some of The Cure's earlier, more melancholic work, although it retains elements of the band's signature sound.

The single release of "High" included several B-sides, such as "Open", "This Twilight Garden", and "Play." Music videos were also produced for both "High" and "Open."

"High" became a staple of The Cure's live performances and remains one of their most popular and recognizable songs. It is often seen as one of the highlights of the Wish album and a key track in The Cure's discography.
