Jeff Marx

Jeff Marx (born September 18, 1970) is an American composer, lyricist, and songwriter, best known for his work on the musical Avenue Q, for which he won a Tony Award for Best Original Score in 2004 (shared with Robert Lopez).

Marx, along with Lopez, conceived Avenue Q as a musical about young adults struggling with adulthood, featuring puppets alongside human actors. The show's humor and relatable themes resonated with audiences and critics alike.

Before Avenue Q, Marx worked as a songwriter for children's television shows. He also co-wrote the songs for the musical Kermit, Prince of Denmark.

His work is characterized by its clever lyrics, catchy melodies, and often satirical approach to contemporary issues. Marx's contributions to musical theatre have earned him significant recognition and established him as a notable figure in the industry.
