Forge (video game)
Forge was a multiplayer online arena combat (MOBA) video game developed by Dark Vale Games. It was released on October 9, 2012, for Microsoft Windows.
Gameplay:
Forge focused on team-based combat in a fantasy setting. Players chose from a selection of hero classes, each with unique abilities and roles. The game emphasized skill-based combat and strategic team coordination. Matches took place in arenas with objectives such as capturing points or eliminating the opposing team. The gameplay was fast-paced and action-oriented, distinguishing it from more traditional MOBA titles.
Hero Classes:
The game featured a variety of hero classes, each designed to fulfill a specific role within a team. These roles typically included tank, damage dealer (DPS), healer, and support. Each class possessed a unique set of abilities and a distinct play style. Examples included a melee-focused warrior, a ranged magic-user, and a healing support character.
Development and Reception:
Forge was developed by Dark Vale Games, an independent studio. Upon release, the game received mixed reviews. While praised for its fast-paced combat and unique class designs, it was criticized for its technical issues, steep learning curve, and lack of a substantial player base.
Closure:
Due to the aforementioned factors and financial difficulties, Dark Vale Games ceased development and support for Forge. The game's servers were shut down, rendering it unplayable. As of now, Forge is no longer available.
