Child's Play (game show)
Child's Play was a daytime game show that aired on CBS from 1982 to 1983. Hosted by Bill Cullen, the show featured three celebrity panelists attempting to decipher clues given by young children. These clues took the form of verbal descriptions of a word or phrase, often with mispronounced words and idiosyncratic logic characteristic of children.
The format involved three rounds. In each round, a different child provided the clues, and the panelists tried to guess the word or phrase within a certain time limit. The panelists earned money for each correct answer, and at the end of the show, the panelist with the most money was declared the winner.
The show was known for its humorous moments, arising from the children's unintentionally funny misinterpretations and pronunciations, as well as the panelists' attempts to navigate the often-confusing clues. "Child's Play" was produced by Bob Stewart Productions, known for other game shows such as "The Price Is Right" and "To Tell the Truth". While it had a relatively short run, it is remembered for its lighthearted and engaging format that highlighted the amusing perspectives of children.
