I'd Do Anything (2008 TV series)

I'd Do Anything was a British talent show-themed reality television series that aired on BBC One from March 15 to May 31, 2008. It was the third show in a series following How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and Any Dream Will Do, all produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group. The program aimed to find a new Nancy and three young actors to play the roles of Oliver Twist, Dodger, and Bet in a West End revival of the musical Oliver!

The series featured twelve contestants vying for the role of Nancy, who were eliminated weekly through a combination of judges' critiques and public votes. Each week, the Nancys performed songs from musical theatre and other genres. John Barrowman, Denise Van Outen, and Barry Humphries (as his Dame Edna Everage character) served as the judges, with Webber as the head judge who had the final decision.

Simultaneously, the show searched for young performers to play Oliver, Dodger, and Bet. This aspect of the competition involved multiple rounds of auditions and workshops, eventually leading to the selection of several children to share the roles throughout the run of the Oliver! revival.

Jodie Prenger won the role of Nancy. Various young actors were selected for the roles of Oliver, Dodger, and Bet, whose names varied depending on the performance date.

The series generated considerable media attention and audience participation, contributing to the anticipation surrounding the West End revival of Oliver!
