Charlie Taylor (footballer, born 1878)
Charles "Charlie" Taylor (born 1878, date of death unknown) was an English footballer who played as a forward. He played primarily for Small Heath (later Birmingham) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Career
Taylor joined Small Heath in 1896 and quickly established himself in the first team. A prolific goalscorer, he was known for his pace and finishing ability. He was a key member of the Small Heath side that won the Second Division title in the 1902-03 season, securing promotion to the First Division. He remained with the club for several seasons in the top flight, continuing to contribute goals.
