  • Celaeno (mythology): In Greek mythology, Celaeno (Ancient Greek: Κελαινώ, "the dark one") is the name of several figures:

    • One of the Pleiades, the seven daughters of Atlas and Pleione. She was the wife of Poseidon and mother of Lycus and Eurypylus. Accounts vary as to her fate; some say she was struck by lightning, while others say she left her sisters out of shame for an affair she had with Poseidon, becoming a comet.
