Brett Young (singer)

Brett Young (born Brett Allen Young on March 16, 1981) is an American country music singer and songwriter.

Early Life and Education:

Born and raised in Anaheim, California, Young initially pursued a career in baseball. He attended Ole Miss and Fresno State University on baseball scholarships, playing as a pitcher. An elbow injury ended his baseball aspirations, leading him to focus on music.

Musical Career:

Young began his music career performing in clubs and bars throughout Southern California. He independently released several albums before signing with Big Machine Label Group's BMLG Records in 2015.

Breakthrough and Success:

His breakthrough single, "Sleep Without You," was released in 2016 and reached number two on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. His self-titled debut album, Brett Young, was released in 2017 and spawned several hit singles, including "In Case You Didn't Know," "Like I Loved You," and "Mercy."
