Boagrius River

The Boagrius River, also known as the Boagrios, was a river located in ancient Locris, a region of Greece. It is primarily known from classical literature and historical accounts of the region. The river flowed through Locris Epizephyrii, or Western Locris, and emptied into the Corinthian Gulf. Ancient sources describe it as being situated near, or forming a boundary with, other important geographical features of the area. The exact location of the Boagrius remains subject to some debate among historians and geographers, as detailed maps and precise records from the ancient period are scarce. It is sometimes identified with the modern-day river known as the Mornos or other smaller streams in the area, based on descriptions of its course and proximity to other Locrian towns. Its importance stemmed from its provision of water for agriculture and its potential role as a communication and transportation route within the region.
