Jim Obradovich (baseball)

James Matthew Obradovich (born November 22, 1953) is a former professional baseball player. A right-handed pitcher, Obradovich played briefly in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Houston Astros.

Obradovich was drafted by the Astros in the 5th round of the 1975 MLB draft out of California State University, Sacramento. He made his major league debut on September 1, 1978, and appeared in a total of three games for the Astros that season, pitching 4 2/3 innings and recording an ERA of 9.64. He did not record a decision or a save. He did not appear in the major leagues again.

Prior to reaching the majors, Obradovich played in the Astros' minor league system, including stints with the Covington Astros, Daytona Beach Astros, Columbus Astros, and Charleston Charlies. After his brief MLB career, he continued to pitch in the minor leagues for a few seasons before retiring.
