Big Ed (rapper)

Big Ed (rapper), also known as Ed O.G. or Edward Anderson, is an American rapper best known for his work in the early 1990s as the frontman of the hip-hop group Ed O.G. & Da Bulldogs.

He emerged from Boston, Massachusetts, contributing to the East Coast hip-hop scene. Ed O.G. & Da Bulldogs are remembered for their conscious rap style and socially aware lyrics. Their debut album, Life of a Kid in the Ghetto (1991), is considered a classic of the era and tackled issues such as poverty, violence, and social inequality. The album featured singles such as "Be a Father to Your Child" and "I Got to Have It," which gained significant radio airplay and helped establish their presence in the hip-hop community.

Following the group's disbandment, Big Ed pursued a solo career. He has released several solo albums and continued to collaborate with other artists. While his solo work has not achieved the same commercial success as his earlier group efforts, he remains a respected figure in underground hip-hop. His music often maintains a focus on positive messages and social commentary.
