Valdanos
Valdanos is a large, relatively undeveloped bay located on the Adriatic coast of Montenegro, near the city of Ulcinj. It is characterized by a crescent-shaped beach, backed by a dense olive grove. Valdanos historically served as a naval base and repair yard for the Montenegrin navy. Today, it is primarily known for its potential for tourism development, though progress has been slow due to unresolved property rights issues and competing development interests. The beach itself is primarily pebbly and relatively isolated compared to other beaches in the Ulcinj Riviera. The olive grove is comprised of thousands of olive trees, many of which are centuries old, and is of significant ecological and cultural importance. The bay is a potential area for eco-tourism and sustainable development, but faces challenges regarding environmental protection and infrastructure improvements.
