Andrew Lawrence (engraver)

Andrew Lawrence (1770 – 1850) was a prominent British engraver, known primarily for his stipple engravings of portraits. He was a member of the Associated Engravers, a group formed to promote engraving and secure commissions. Lawrence's work often reproduced paintings by contemporary artists, contributing to their wider dissemination. He produced engravings after works by Sir Thomas Lawrence (no relation), Sir Joshua Reynolds, and others. His engravings are found in numerous publications and are considered valuable examples of 19th-century British printmaking.
