Suvorovo

Suvorovo is a town in northeastern Bulgaria, located in Varna Province. It is the administrative centre of Suvorovo Municipality, which lies approximately 34 kilometers northwest of the city of Varna.

Geography:

Suvorovo is situated in the eastern Danubian Plain. The terrain around the town is primarily agricultural, characterized by rolling hills and fields.

History:

The area has a history dating back to ancient times, with archaeological evidence suggesting settlements from the Roman period and earlier. The modern town of Suvorovo was officially established in 1964, formed from the merging of several smaller villages. The town is named in honor of the Russian General Alexander Suvorov, who led Russian troops through the region in the late 18th century during the Russo-Turkish Wars.

Economy:

Agriculture is a key sector of the local economy, with cultivation of crops such as wheat, barley, sunflowers, and grapes. There is also some light industry present in the town. The proximity to Varna also allows some residents to commute for work opportunities.
