Alfred Sharpe (artist)
Alfred Sharpe (1836-1908) was a British landscape painter and watercolourist. While details of his early life remain somewhat obscure, Sharpe is known for his prolific output of scenic views, primarily of the British countryside and coastal regions. He exhibited extensively, including at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of British Artists, and other prominent London galleries. His works are characterised by a delicate and detailed style, often employing soft, muted colours to create atmospheric and evocative scenes. Sharpe's paintings are now held in various public and private collections, and remain popular among collectors of Victorian-era landscapes. His works provide a visual record of the landscapes and environments of his time.
