Joe Grace (baseball)
Joe Grace (born January 23, 1956, in Springfield, Illinois) is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays (1979-1983) and the Atlanta Braves (1984).
Grace was primarily a relief pitcher, known for his sinker. He was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 22nd round of the 1974 MLB draft but did not sign. He was then drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 1st round (2nd overall) of the 1977 MLB January Draft-Regular Phase.
During his MLB career, Grace appeared in 233 games, compiling a record of 21 wins and 24 losses. He had 17 saves and an earned run average (ERA) of 4.05. His best season came in 1982 with the Blue Jays, where he had a 5-3 record and a 3.38 ERA in 54 appearances. After his playing career, Grace has remained involved in baseball, including scouting roles.
