Chizhou

Chizhou (池州), also known as Chichow, is a prefecture-level city located in the south of Anhui province, People's Republic of China. Situated on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, it borders Anqing to the northwest, Tongling to the north, Xuancheng to the east, and Huangshan to the south.

History:

Chizhou has a long history, dating back to the Qin Dynasty. During the Tang Dynasty, it was a significant cultural and Buddhist center, known for its beautiful scenery and proximity to Mount Jiuhua, one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism in China. The name "Chizhou" was first used during the Tang Dynasty.
