2020 Liga 1 (Indonesia)

The 2020 Liga 1 was the initially planned 12th season of the Liga 1, the top-flight professional football league in Indonesia. The season was originally scheduled to begin on 29 February 2020 and conclude on 1 November 2020. However, the season was suspended on 16 March 2020 after only three rounds of matches due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.

Numerous attempts were made to restart the league, initially targeting a resumption in October 2020, then November, and later February 2021. These attempts were consistently hampered by the ongoing pandemic and the inability to secure necessary permits from the Indonesian National Police.

On 20 January 2021, the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) officially canceled the 2020 Liga 1 season. No champions were awarded, and no teams were relegated. The decision was made based on the force majeure clause in the competition regulations, citing the prolonged inability to continue the season due to circumstances beyond their control. The focus then shifted towards preparing for the 2021 Liga 1 season. The teams competing in the abbreviated 2020 season were the same 18 teams that were originally scheduled to participate.
