Cariño (band)
Cariño is a Spanish indie pop band formed in Madrid in 2016. The band consists of María Talaverano (vocals, guitar), Paola Rivero (vocals, keyboard), and Alicia Ros (vocals, bass). They are known for their catchy melodies, relatable lyrics often dealing with themes of love, heartbreak, and modern life, and a lo-fi, DIY aesthetic.
Cariño's music is generally considered within the twee pop or indie pop genres, drawing influences from artists such as Camera Obscura, La Buena Vida, and international indie pop acts. Their songs are typically short, energetic, and sung in Spanish.
The band gained popularity through online platforms and released several singles and EPs before releasing their debut album, Movidas, in 2018. This album helped solidify their position within the Spanish indie music scene.
Cariño has performed at numerous music festivals and venues across Spain and internationally, building a strong following among young audiences. They continue to release music and tour actively.
