The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (Finland) (Finnish: Ulkoasiainministeriö, Swedish: Utrikesministeriet) is one of the twelve ministries comprising the Finnish Government. It is responsible for preparing and implementing the Finnish Government's foreign policy.
The Ministry's tasks include:
- Maintaining relations with other countries and international organizations.
- Promoting Finland's foreign policy objectives, including security, economic well-being, and global responsibility.
- Representing Finland in international negotiations and forums.
- Providing consular services to Finnish citizens abroad.
- Supporting Finland's development cooperation activities.
- Coordinating Finland's participation in the European Union's common foreign and security policy.
The Ministry is headed by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, a member of the Finnish Government.
