2005 Welsh Open (snooker)
The 2005 Welsh Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament held at the Newport Centre in Newport, Wales, from January 26 to February 6, 2005. It was the sixth ranking event of the 2004/2005 season.
Ronnie O'Sullivan won the tournament, defeating Stephen Hendry 9–8 in the final. This was O'Sullivan's second Welsh Open title, having previously won in 2004. The tournament featured a total prize fund of £225,500, with the winner receiving £35,000.
Qualifying rounds for the tournament took place prior to the main event. The tournament featured a standard knockout format with best-of-nine frames matches up to the quarter-finals, best-of-eleven frames in the semi-finals, and best-of-seventeen frames in the final.
