Thomas Brand (minister)
Thomas Brand (minister) was an English dissenting minister. He served as pastor of the Presbyterian congregation at the New Meeting House in Taunton, Somerset, from 1728 until his death in 1770.
Little is known about his early life. He succeeded Stephen James as minister in Taunton. He played a role in the education of dissenting students preparing for the ministry, though no formal academy was attached to his congregation during his tenure. His sermons were known for their thoughtful and reasoned approach, reflecting the moderate Calvinism characteristic of many Presbyterians of the time.
